I'm Ilka—an enthusiastic Surface Pattern Designer, Artist, Entrepreneur, Stepmom, Dog Mom, Plant-based Food Lover, Breast Cancer Survivor, and Advocate. I believe that art and design have the power to transform our world and evoke emotions that make life more vibrant and meaningful.

With a rich cultural heritage—half German and Dutch—I grew up in Germany before embarking on an incredible journey that eventually led me to settle in the picturesque town of Mount Dora, Florida. Along the way, I've been fortunate to experience life in vibrant cities like NYC, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale.

After immersing myself in the business world with a Bachelor's Degree, I felt a magnetic pull towards the realm of creativity. I followed my heart and pursued a Graphic Design degree, which expanded my artistic horizons. I even delved into the captivating world of Interior Design, further fueling my passion for space and aesthetics.

With 14 years of experience as a Creative Design Manager for a tourism company, I made a courageous decision to embark on a new adventure—a path as a surface pattern designer. It's a thrilling endeavor that allows me to infuse the world with captivating colors, shapes, and designs, both professionally and personally.

My dream is to create patterns and art that exude feelings of joy, calmness, happiness, and love— filling our planet with splendor and magnificence. I'm happy to offer my services for licensing, custom design, and collaborations and hope that my artwork will connect with you.
